When I awoke Gabe was gone. I remembered her waking me briefly saying something about divorce. It was close to noon, so I knew I needed to call Gabe so she’d know I was not upset or anything from earlier.

When I got out of the shower this morning she was sleep. I wanted to wake her then and apologize, but I let her sleep. I located my phone and called her.

“Hello”

“Hey baby”

“I see that you finally woke up mister.”

“I know right… I usually don’t sleep this late.”

“Is that right?” She asked with a hint of a smile in her voice and I chuckled to myself. She knew I was worn out from our loving session.

“Very funny baby.”

“I’m beat myself to be honest. If I didn’t have business to handle, I would have slept late.”

“You still at the courthouse?”

“No, I just left. I filed the divorce.”

“What happen from here?” I asked ready to set a date and make her my wife.

“Once he’s served, it’ll will be processed.”

“Oh…”

“Damn, you’re ready to make me Mrs. McVay I see.”

“You already know it.”

“Awww, you’re so sweet.”

“Not as sweet as your juices.”

“A mess… Mind in the gutter. And guess what?”

“What?” I asked.

“My mind is too!”

“You on the way home?”

“No baby. I’m out shopping for bags and heels.”

“In that case, I’ll be up when you get back.” I would stay in bed if she was heading home now.

“Want me to bring you something to eat baby?”

“Depends on how long you gon be out.” “I should be home by two-thirty.”

“Alright, stop and get me a steak from somewhere. I’ll eat some fruit until you get here,” I said getting up to get dressed. I was going to my office and go over the numbers. I was running things from home until I heard back from my brother.

“Okay baby.”

“I love you Gabe.”

“I love you too Dirt Mcvay.”
